Family Staycation at Woodlands Resort

Hi friends, happy Tuesday! This past weekend, you probably saw that we had the pleasure of having a ‘staycation’ at The Woodlands Resort in the Woodlands, Texas! It was an absolute blast and we were so excited to find such a neat, kid-friendly getaway, just 25 minutes from where we live. It’s no secret that once you have kiddos, it becomes a little harder to leave the house, let alone go on a full-blown trip! This staycation was the perfect alternative and truly felt like we were on a mini getaway. [If you are looking to plan your own family getaway – you can book here to receive 10% off the best available rate!].

Right now, they are offering several fun packages – we loved the Kids Rule Package – your room reservation will include $50 dining credit each day, “decorate your own cookie” for the kids [Harper did this and had a blast!], and one kid’s backpack filled with goodies! In addition, the resort offers so many fun family activities – a few of Harper’s favorites included face painting, cupcake decorating, watching the kids do karaoke [a brother/sister duo sang ‘Baby Shark’ and every kid at the resort went crazy!], and making s’mores around the fire after dinner.

In addition, there is a really fun lazy river and water park, which the kids loved! There are several shallow pools and a splash pad with fountains that shoot up…both Harper and Beckham had a ball playing in these!

On Friday evening, we ate at The Bistro which was absolutely delish! The kids enjoyed Mac n’ cheese and chicken fingers, while Philip and I ate a great meat & cheese board, pretzel bites with cheese fondue, and a glass of wine.

We loved The Woodlands Dining Room for breakfast both mornings! They offer a super extensive buffet and even an omelet bar where they customize your omelets and also offer fresh-made waffles and pancakes. We are big time breakfast people, so they entire fam was in heaven.

On Saturday, we got to enjoy one of the property’s four luxury cabanas and it was so relaxing and laid-back. We loved the private setting and it really gave us space to set up with the kids and get a break from all the sun! We had food and drinks from the Cool Water Cafe, which is their poolside dining, and it was so fun! We ordered a little bit of everything. The cabanas have couches, a TV, wi-fi, a refrigerator, and food/beverage service.

For an after lunch treat, we loved The Sweet Spot, which is the cutest little ice cream parlor by the pool! So many flavors and toppings to choose from.

Saturday evening, we were so excited to get the opportunity to dine at Robard’s Steakhouse ! It was not only completely stunning, but also absolutely delicious. It had beautiful views of the golf course and exquisite decor. We had one of our favorite meals ever. As a huge steak lover, Philip was thoroughly impressed by their menu.

On Sunday, Philip got to play a round of golf on the beautiful course! He’s a big golfer and really enjoyed the sun and lush scenery.

If you’re looking for a great family getaway close by, look no further. You and your family will enjoy every second here at The Woodlands Resort! And don’t forget, you can book here to receive 10% off the best available rate 🙂

A big thank you to The Woodlands Resort for hosting us this weekend. All opinions are my own.
